This is my first wheel bowl of the school year I made. It is about three inches tall and four inches wide. I wanted some design in it so I decided to add some carved lines which was done just by spinning the wheel and dragging a pencil tool along it. Then to contrast the lines I splattered a teal green glaze over a white glaze to really set it off. It had been awhile since I had been on the wheel so I had to remember how to center and pull up the project without ruining it. It was hard but I really feel like my skills showed through. I learned more so the idea of contrasting lines and color to make it pop. The main art element I focused on was for sure shape. I knew I wanted a normal shaped bowl for my first one and that is exactly what I got:) My project is wild and all over the place, it shows different sides of art. Wild and crazy that I really wanted to bring out in this first project. It gives a free spirit vibe I believe. Where you can just be yourself. Because it's art, and there is no guidelines.
